Job description
- Participate as a security engineering representative on multidisciplinary engineering teams supporting the design, development, implementation, evaluation, and integration of secure networking, computing, and enclave environments
- Support the design and implementation of Information Assurance (IA) architectures, systems, and security components
- Conduct technical security assessments to identify vulnerabilities, security gaps, and non-compliance with Information Assurance standards and policies
- Assist in validating system security requirements and developing secure system architectures and engineering solutions
- Support the implementation of security controls for networking, computing, and enclave environments
- Assist with integrating security throughout the system development lifecycle to ensure systems meet mission and compliance requirements
- Support the establishment and enforcement of trusted relationships among interconnected systems and enterprise architectures
- Participate in security planning, risk assessments, risk analysis, and risk management activities
- Identify security requirements for the protection of Government information and mission systems
- Support Certification and Accreditation (C&A) and Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities in accordance with applicable Government requirements
- Review security documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with applicable standards and regulations
- Assist with implementing security engineering principles including identification, authentication, authorization, access control, cryptography, configuration management, auditing, contingency planning, incident response, and intrusion detection
- Collaborate with customers, systems engineers, software developers, and project stakeholders to integrate security into enterprise solutions
- Develop and maintain technical security documentation supporting system authorization and accreditation efforts
Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Systems Security Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related technical discipline

Minimum of of experience as an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) supporting programs of similar scope, complexity, and mission requirements

Four (4) additional years of directly related ISSE experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor's degree

Experience supporting the design, implementation, and integration of secure networking, computing, and enclave environments

Experience implementing Information Assurance (IA) principles and security engineering best practices

Experience supporting system security planning, security assessments, risk analysis, and risk management activities

Experience validating security requirements and integrating security controls into enterprise systems

Familiarity with security engineering principles including: Identification, authentication, and authorization, Access control, Cryptography, Configuration management, Change management, Auditing, Incident response, Intrusion detection, and Contingency planning

Experience supporting Certification and Accreditation (C&A) and Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities

Familiarity with NSA/CSS Information System Certification and Accreditation Process (NISCAP), DoD RMF, NIST RMF, or comparable federal cybersecurity frameworks

Experience reviewing and maintaining security documentation and system authorization artifacts

Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills
