Are you driven by the power of technology and its role in transforming business and government? Do you thrive in collaborative environments and want to build a career delivering impactful solutions across enterprises and agencies?

If so, CGI is the place where you can grow your potential.

As an Entry Level Software Developer, you'll be part of a highly collaborative team working alongside architects, engineers, and business stakeholders. You'll contribute to designing and building modern software solutions, gaining hands-on experience with emerging technologies while developing strong foundations in software engineering.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain software features using modern programming languages and frameworks, contributing to front-end, back-end, or full stack solutions.

  • Work as part of an Agile team to design, code, test, and deliver applications, learning CGI's engineering practices and collaborating closely with peers.

  • Apply emerging technologies-such as generative AI, cloud platforms, automation tools, or DevOps practices-based on project needs and team direction.

  • Build and integrate APIs, data connections, and service components that enable secure and reliable system interoperability.

  • Support debugging, troubleshooting, and performance improvements across application and system components.

  • Work with databases, data models, and queries to support application functionality and basic analytics or reporting needs.

  • Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly to accelerate coding, documentation, and testing, validating outputs through reviews and best practices.

  • Document code, designs, and processes to support maintainability, clarity, and future enhancements.

  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into practical, scalable software solutions.

This role includes opportunities to focus on application development, data and analytics, cloud-ready delivery, or a blend-based on project needs and your professional interests.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineer or related field

  • Foundational experience with software development in languages such as Java, C#, .NET, Python, C++, or JavaScript, with a solid understanding of object-oriented programming

  • Foundational experience with frontend frameworks such as React, Angular

  • Working knowledge of SQL and basic familiarity with REST APIs and integration concepts

  • Ability to learn new tools, frameworks, and technologies quickly

  • Strong analytical thinking paired with clear written and verbal communication skills

  • Adaptability, curiosity, and comfort working in collaborative, team-oriented environments

  • Understanding of SDLC fundamentals, including basic testing practices and application development principles

  • Familiarity with cloud concepts or hybrid/multi-cloud environments (coursework or projects welcome)

  • Ability to work in the U.S. permanently and without restriction
