Job description
We are seeking a Data Engineer (Mid to Senior level) with strong skills in SQL (Snowflakepreferred), Python, and clinical data workflows. You'll work across dbt, Sigma (BI tool), and FHIR pipelines to support our Clinical Data Mart, enhancing data quality with extractors like John Snow Labs and building new data extraction paths. You'll also manage terminology mappings and reference tables across standards like SNOMED, ICD, NCIt, and UMLS for integration into our Knowledge Base.
- Develop and optimize clinical trial and research reports using Sigma and dbt
- Create and maintain scalable, reusable dbt architecture for clinical and operational reporting
- Implement structured FHIR data extraction and transformation logic
- Interpret outputs and models from John Snow Labs and traditional extractors to enrich data assets
- Build and maintain Clinical Data Marts with quality-focused workflows (testing, validation, auditing)
- Design and implement clinical terminology mapping and crosswalks across ontologies (ICD-10, ICD-O-3, SNOMED, NCIt, NCIm, UMLS, etc.)
- Collaborate with Medical Informatics team to operationalize new clinical concepts
- Author high-quality, version-controlled SQL and Python code with strong documentation
- Attend daily standups with availability to overlap with US-based teams
- Collaborate across engineering, informatics, and analyst teams to implement robust solutions
- Maintain documentation and contribute to continuous process improvement
