ARES Corporation has an exciting opportunity for an entry-level software engineer supporting our NASA clients. The candidate will support a team of full-stack developers creating custom, data-driven web applications that support NASA users across the Country. The candidate will be provided an opportunity to work with a wide variety of technologies and programming languages including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Apache Solr, React, PostgreSQL, Java, JavaScript, and many more. This individual will need excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interface with technical and non-technical clients and team members., * Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science.
- Software engineering / programming experience with at least one high-level language such as Java, C++, C#, or Python. Java experience is preferred.
- Strong grasp of object-orienting programming principles, unit testing, code documentation, algorithm design, and code optimization.
- Experience with web technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Experience with the React framework is preferred, but not required.
- Experience with integrated development environments such as Eclipse or IntelliJ IDEA.
- Working knowledge of the Linux operating system, including the ability to use a Linux command line interface and write basic Bash shell scripts.
- Basic working knowledge of Amazon Web Services and cloud computing concepts.
- Basic working knowledge of agile software development processes.
