Staff Software Engineer

The Cint Technology team is looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join our international Data Solutions & Measurement team. The role focuses on designing, implementing, scaling, and maintaining the backend systems that power our production research services. You will work with no supervision, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery, and collaborate closely with the Outcomes, Methodology, and Recruitment teams, as well as product and data science., You'll spend roughly 20% of your time influencing junior and mid-level engineers while focusing 80% on complex problems. Your responsibilities include:

• Design, implement, scale, and maintain large-volume data processing systems.
• Develop event-driven and API-based integrations.
• Contribute to migration toward a domain-based, scalable architecture.
• Build software optimized for performance-sensitive workflows.
• Investigate technical problems and propose solutions collaboratively.
• Collaborate closely with data science and engineering peers.
• Participate in a collaborative development model where work is shared.

• 10+ years of backend software engineering experience with deep technical expertise.
• Experience with Java; familiarity with multiple languages (Python, Scala, C/C++, Haskell, Elixir, Go, Ruby, etc.) is welcomed.
• Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, Big O notation, and event-driven architecture.
• Familiarity with heavy data processing tools (Spark, Apache ecosystem, Delta Lake, Parquet, Kafka, Avro).
• Experience with Python/PySpark and building high-volume, low-latency real-time systems.
• Experience with Docker, SQL/NoSQL databases, REST APIs, and event-driven integrations.
• Comfortable in high-throughput, performance-oriented production environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, collaborative working style.
• Excellent communication with engineers and data science partners.
• Computer science, computer engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Nice to Have

• Cloud experience (AWS, GCP, or other providers).
• Pandas experience.
• Spring framework and microservices experience.
• Experience working in large-scale data or analytics environments.
