Job description

We are looking for a "Data Architect - Governance as Code" to support a strategic initiative within our client in the pharmaceutival environment, focused on implementing modern data governance practices in a global environment. In this role, you will bring hands-on expertise in Governance as Code, contributing to the design and implementation of scalable, automated, and standardized data governance frameworks. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to enable robust data architecture aligned with emerging industry standards. This is a short-term project (approx. 3 months) with an ASAP start, based in Barcelona (Meridian) or remote. TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Design and implement Governance as Code frameworks for data management and control.
  • Define and operationalize Data Contracts using Open Data Contract standards.
  • Develop and manage semantic layers to ensure consistent data interpretation across systems.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data governance using GitHub automations.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to align governance practices with business needs.
  • Ensure scalability, traceability, and compliance of data governance processes.
  • Contribute to the definition of best practices and standards for modern data architecture.
  • Support integration of governance frameworks within existing data platforms.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working with Data Contracts (Open Data Contract Standard).

  • Solid understanding and implementation of semantic data layers.

  • Experience with GitHub automations and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Strong background in data architecture and data governance frameworks.

  • Ability to work in cross-functional and international environments.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication skills in English. NICE TO HAVE:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Governance as Code concepts and implementation.

  • Experience working with Snowflake.

  • Previous experience in pharmaceutical or highly regulated environments.

  • Familiarity with modern data platforms and cloud ecosystems.

  • Experience in short-term, high-impact consulting projects.
