Job description
To ensure the stability and efficiency of DT-Technik's cloud infrastructure (BM4X), we are seeking a qualified DevOps Engineer Monitoring. This individual will be responsible for managing the monitoring of our cloud infrastructure using Zabbix and partially support the legacy environment on ICINGA Monitoring. You will work as part of a German team, oversee the monitoring of compute nodes, act as the interface to the platform operators, and collaborate with the Operations team to enrich the service for the First Line. Activity description and concrete tasks: You will be responsible for monitoring our cloud infrastructure using the tool Zabbix and partially support the legacy environment on ICINGA Monitoring. This includes advancing the alerting system by programming more granular alarms and enriching the information within an alert. Additionally, you will ensure that alarms are correctly forwarded to the First Line. You will also support the contacts responsible for monitoring network devices., Wiki CASM (Ticketing-Tool) Zabbix (Monitoring-Tool) ICINGA (Monitoring Tool) Jumpserver RedFish API Grafana Netbox
Requirements
Zabbix (mainly) and ICINGA Expertise: Proficiency in using Zabbix and ICINGA for monitoring cloud infrastructure, including setting up, configuring, and managing alerts. Cloud Infrastructure Knowledge: Strong understanding of cloud environments and the specific challenges associated with monitoring and incident management. Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose issues, develop solutions, and implement changes effectively and efficiently. Communication Skills: Strong ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Team Collaboration: Experience working in a team setting, particularly within a German-speaking team, and coordinating with multiple stakeholders. Programming/Scripting: Experience with programming or scripting languages to enhance and automate monitoring processes. Network Device Monitoring: Familiarity with monitoring network devices and supporting network monitoring contacts. Agile Mindset&Methods: Experience with agile mindset and methods eg. SCRUM or KANBAN. Operations Collaboration: Experience working with operations teams to improve processes and information flow to First Line support. Platform Management: Understanding of platform operations and the ability to act as an interface between monitoring and platform teams. German Language Proficiency: While not mandatory, proficiency in German can be beneficial for seamless communication within the team. Tools & Platforms
