Job description

At Uni Systems, we are working towards turning digital visions into reality. We are continuously growing and we are looking for a professional Data Scientist to join our UniQue Seville, Spain team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our customers in the public sector and you will be responsible for developing new business by identifying profitable opportunities, maintaining your client portfolio by building strong, long-lasting relationships, and monitoring the progress of the projects, with the aim to provide excellent client service and added value services. What will you be bringing to the team?

  • Execute ETL processes, perform data mining, and design visualizations to deliver actionable insights under the project leader's guidance.
  • Support scientists in managing the data lifecycle, including documentation, access management, and onboarding newcomers.
  • Improve data models, perform extractions, script solutions, and conduct quality checks; lead design, development, and maintenance of information system architecture and infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain contacts within the European Institution, other institutional services, and relevant external bodies to support classification and information system development.
  • Optimize data structures, queries, and storage; prepare data for advanced analytics and visualizations based on evolving requirements.
  • Apply state-of-the-art data science tools to match datasets, analyze data, and communicate results internally and to external stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on modern data analysis tools and methodologies (e.g., BI approaches, Qlik-Sense, Oracle, Python, Tableau).
  • Specify and design user-friendly visualization interfaces and dashboards for internal and external communication.
  • Maintain and update the project website and interactive dashboards.
  • Produce and maintain manuals for developments, data operations, and processes.

Requirements

  • Master's degree + 7 years of relevant experience, or Bachelor + 11 years.
  • Strong expertise in data analytics techniques and tools.
  • Proficient in BI and visualization platforms (Tableau, SAS, SAP, Power BI).
  • Skilled in scripting/programming languages (Python, R, Stata).
  • Knowledge of SQL databases (Oracle SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and ETL tools (Qlik-Sense scripting, Talent Open Studio, Python for data processing).
  • Familiarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) for dashboards and website maintenance.
  • Experience with version control (GIT), continuous code delivery, and unit testing.
  • Experience deploying large language models (LLMs) for data analysis or text processing.
  • Interest or experience in graph/network analysis and web scraping.
  • Excellent command of English.
