Job description

  • Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
  • Perform Automation Testing, Functional Testing, System Testing, Software Testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Develop and maintain automated test frameworks using Selenium.
  • Execute API testing using Postman and SOAP UI for REST and SOAP services.
  • Validate REST APIs and web services, ensuring functionality, performance, and reliability.
  • Identify, document, prioritise, and track software defects through to resolution.
  • Collaborate with Agile delivery teams during sprint planning, refinement, and retrospectives.
  • Support continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) testing activities.
  • Produce clear and concise test documentation, reports, and evidence.
  • Ensure software meets business, security, and quality standards before release.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes, automation frameworks, and QA best practices.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Test Engineer, QA Engineer, or Software Test Analyst.

  • Strong experience in: o Automation Testing o Software Testing o Functional Testing o System Testing o User Acceptance Testing (UAT) o Quality Assurance (QA)

  • Experience designing and executing both manual and automated test cases.

  • Excellent defect management and root cause analysis skills.

  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).

  • Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery environments.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Desirable Experience:

  • Previous experience delivering projects for UK Government, Central Government departments, or Public Sector organisations.
  • Experience working within GDS (Government Digital Service) standards and Agile delivery methodologies.
  • Experience testing cloud-based applications and microservices.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
  • Knowledge of accessibility and security testing principles.
  • Experience working in regulated or highly secure environments.
