Job description
We're looking for an experienced SC Cleared Linux Engineer to join a high-profile technology programme, supporting the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of critical infrastructure platforms. This role will focus on a blend of project delivery, platform engineering and operational support, working across enterprise Linux environments., * Provision and manage Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 8-10) Servers across physical and virtual environments
- Perform in-place RHEL upgrades using the LEAPP migration tool
- Develop and maintain automation scripts for configuration management, deployment and monitoring
- Support BAU activities while driving platform improvements and modernisation initiatives
- Provide technical guidance on Linux infrastructure, delivery approaches and best practices
- Contribute to operational excellence, security, resilience and service improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Strong experience managing Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 7-10) production environments
- Scripting and automation experience
- Virtualisation expertise, particularly VMware
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Experience working within ITIL environments
- Experience managing systems using Red Hat Satellite
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Proven ability to prioritise workloads and deliver under pressure

- JBoss administration
- Linux performance tuning
- Linux clustering and high availability solutions
- Kerberos and Active Directory integration
- Puppet or similar configuration management tools
- Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning
- Exposure to big data platforms such as Hadoop
