Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Operations Engineer to design, maintain, and optimise enterprise network infrastructure. This role is responsible for ensuring high availability, performance, and security across all network systems, while also leading and delivering key network projects, including remote office deployments and infrastructure expansions. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer looking to grow professionally while making a direct impact on the availability, security, and performance of critical network systems. This is a hybrid role, requiring two days per week on-site in the London office. The team operates a weekly rotating shift pattern, covering 7am-3pm and 11am-7pm. Ability to travel within the UK and EMEA to complete remote office builds. Occasional working outside of normal working hours required to complete remote office/data centre upgrades and equipment refresh projects., Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve network issues across LAN, WAN, and cloud environments. Configure and optimise LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, and VPN solutions using platforms such as Cisco, Arista, Meraki, Juniper, and Palo Alto. Provide highest level of support to all customers both internally and externally. This includes incident response for network related outages, fulfilment of network requests and implementation of network changes via change management. Manage network performance, circuit utilisation and perform packet level troubleshooting using tools such as Wireshark, Allegro Packets, and flow analysis to diagnose latency, packet loss, and application issues. Implement and enforce network security controls including firewall policies, ACLs, IDS/IPS, NAC and configure B2B VPN's to facilitate connectivity requirements with 3rd party networks. Perform technical support between network services and other IT technical engineering groups, supporting the maintenance and installation, migration of new software, system upgrades, and general technical modifications. Support cloud and hybrid network connectivity across AWS and Azure, including VNETs, VPCs, VPN gateways, ExpressRoute, and Direct Connect. Implementation of routine firewall change requests Participate in on-call rotation for critical support Project Support End-to-end delivery of network infrastructure projects from design through implementation and handover Plan and execute network deployments for new sites, office relocations, and expansions Complete data centre and remote office network equipment refresh projects, including lifecycle replacement of switches, routers, firewalls, and core infrastructure. Oversee circuit provisioning, ISP coordination, and last-mile connectivity for new and existing sites Coordinate with the EMEA D&T Project Team, vendors, and third parties to ensure successful project delivery Automation, Documentation & Mentoring Maintain and improve network monitoring, alerting, and reporting capabilities Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers Maintain accurate documentation for network designs, configurations, and procedures Automate network operations tasks using scripting or infrastructure-as-code tools Why CBRE When you join CBRE, you become part of the global leader in commercial real estate services and investment that helps businesses and people thrive. Requirements

Hands-on experience in network operations, providing BAU support, incident response, and troubleshooting across multi-site enterprise environments (500+ endpoints) Strong knowledge of routing, switching, firewalls, load balancing, VPNs. Strong operational experience using Cisco, Juniper, Meraki, Palo Alto, or similar platforms. Packet-level troubleshooting and protocol analysis skills (TCP/IP stack, packet capture analysis) Strong grasp of network security principles Experience supporting hybrid and cloud networking (Azure, AWS, or GCP) Proficient in network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Grafana, Zabbix, Wireshark). Strong aptitude and desire to learn, and expand skill set to new technologies related to networking services Knowledge of scripting/automation (e.g., Python, Ansible) is desirable and a plus.

Certifications: CCNP Enterprise / equivalent advanced networking certification or experience Juniper, Palo Alto, or other relevant vendor certifications What you will be doing
