Job description
The successful candidate will be part of the IPS and Training Team working closely with both systems and software engineering, and programme management. You will be required to develop and deliver technical documentation and training materials while establishing working relationships with a wide range of customers. The role will primarily be based in Malvern, Worcestershire however some travel within the UK and overseas travel will be required.
You will assist in the preparation of Technical Manuals to various formats, i.e. AESP or US Government Technical Manual.
You will actively collaborate with programme management, engineering and other development areas.
You will be involved with customer training using various media such as MS PowerPoint and carry out On Job Training.
You will carry out other tasks commensurate to the role as directed by the Integrated Support Manager.
You will assist in the preparation of IPS/Supportability documentation, commensurate with internal on the job training.
You must be able to obtain and maintain the relevant UK security clearance required for the role, SC at a minimum.
What You Will Learn
You will get extensive training on our main product, being the SCi-Toolset and the hardware infrastructure that supports it.
You will learn how complex, secure, multi-server systems are built, tested, deployed, and sustained throughout their lifecycle.
You will gain exposure to UK and international customer environments, seeing how systems are used operationally and how best to support them.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.]
Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.
Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). If you live within a reasonable commute of an RTX site with other colleagues you interact with, your manager will discuss whether there is a degree of onsite presence associated with this role.
Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee's personal responsibility.
Requirements
You will be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of the key areas relating to Technical Documentation and training material production. A background in ISR Exploitation Systems would be desirable.
You will be able to develop, implement and control Training Plans with conflicting requirements, as part of a busy training programme, to satisfy defined customer and business requirements, ensuring that activities are successfully progressed and delivered in line with established targets and constraints.
You will be expected to form part of the team that conducts Maintenance Task Analysis on ISR Exploitation Systems.
Experience in the use of MS Office products for the production, control and amendment of supportability documentation and Technical Manuals, would be desirable.
Qualifications We Prefer
Desirable Experience/Qualifications:
Technical Author
Formal training qualification.
Engineering experience.
It Would Be Great If You Also Have
Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
Experience working in defense, aerospace or another regulated, mission-critical environment.
Experience supporting customer-facing systems and providing remote technical support.
A full UK driving license., Requires theoretical to advanced knowledge of work area typically obtained through University Degree combined with experience. Practical knowledge of RTX projects, programs
or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work.
Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience.
Engineering/Other Technical Positions:Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics(STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

You will be based primarily at our Malvern office, working within the IPS (Integrated Product Support) team. Regular travel to customer sites in the UK and overseas will be required depending on program needs.
