Hours of work
37.5 hours per week. Flexi-time model with a 7.5-hour day (start as early as 8:00 or finish as late as 18:00), core collaboration hours between 10:00 and 16:00. Office-first emphasis to support high-touch leadership, team cohesion, and cross-functional influence.
Day-to-day responsibilities include but are not limited to the below:
- Feature Development (70%): Dive deep into the creation of our SaaS products, working alongside a dynamic, cross-functional team, getting involved in every stage from brainstorming sessions to deployment, ensuring that our solutions not only meet but exceed our high standards and delight our customers.
- Technical Development (20%): As with all software, it's not only what our customers see that makes it successful. Your role will include analysis, proposal and execution of technical improvements to give us the best foundation for our software evolution, as well as opportunities to improve tooling and processes.
- Personal Development (10%): At BrightHR, growth is a constant. Allocate time to expand your knowledge, keeping abreast of the latest industry trends, tools, and techniques to push your capabilities and our solutions forward.
Requirements
Essential:
- Client-side Typescript
- Modern React development (Hooks, Context, React Query)
- Unit & Component testing using React Testing Library
- Advanced version control using Git
- Working with REST API's
- CSS
Desirable:
- Experience using Cloudflare workers.
- Performance optimisation experience (caching, query structuring)
- Well-versed in accessibility best practice (keyboard support, screen readers, form usability)
- Knowledge of various front-end architectural patterns
- Experience with Observability as a practice (e.g. TrackJs, Sentry, GA)
- Component library development using Storybook
- Knowledge of E2E testing, * A hands-on engineer with a love for technology and a strong belief in producing high-quality, resilient services with an aspiration to achieve engineering excellence.
- Nimble and adaptable, with the ability to quickly adjust to new challenges and be pragmatic when required.
- Proactive in seeking out and evaluating emerging technologies that can add value to the platform.
- Demonstrable experience in technical delivery and Agile methodologies.
- You love face-to-face collaboration and being part of a close-knit tech community.
- Ambitious & passionate with a desire to develop your skills alongside your peers.
- You're comfortable interacting with both technical & non-technical stakeholders.
- You understand and promote robust testing strategies to ensure code reliability and quality.
