Job description

HIS supports hybrid working, with staff working between home and office locations as required. The role will involve working with colleagues across Scotland and may require attendance at offices for team, project, stakeholder or in-person meetings.

Requirements

  • Practical experience of applying information governance, data protection, FOI, SAR, records management and information security requirements in a complex organisation.
  • Confidence in assessing information risks and explaining options, recommendations and controls in a way that can be understood by both specialist and non-specialist audiences.
  • Experience of producing clear, accurate and usable documentation, including policies, procedures, guidance, reports, briefings or audit evidence.
  • An interest in digital transformation and the role of information governance in enabling safe adoption of tools such as Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Online.
  • A proactive approach to identifying issues, improving processes, supporting compliance and helping colleagues make informed decisions.
  • The ability to work collaboratively, build effective relationships and contribute positively to a busy team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, sound judgement and the ability to manage sensitive information appropriately.
  • Highly effective communication skills, with the ability to make complex legislative, technical or governance requirements clear, practical and relevant.
  • Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to work on your own initiative, prioritise workload and meet deadlines while maintaining quality.
