Job description

We're seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join a growing Platform Engineering function on an initial 3-month contract. This is an opportunity to work at the forefront of modern cloud engineering, supporting a business as it transitions towards an AI-first engineering model. You'll be responsible for maintaining and evolving Azure-based platforms, driving automation, supporting cloud infrastructure at scale and helping embed AI-assisted delivery practices across the engineering lifecycle. Working across both established services and emerging AI-driven workloads, you'll play a key role in ensuring the platform remains secure, scalable, cost-effective and ready for future growth.

Why Join?

  • Be part of an organisation actively embracing AI-first engineering and software delivery.
  • Work with modern Azure, Kubernetes and Infrastructure-as-Code technologies.
  • Influence platform automation, DevSecOps and cloud engineering best practices.
  • Gain exposure to AI-enabled infrastructure and next-generation cloud delivery models.
  • Join a collaborative engineering environment focused on innovation and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build and support secure, scalable, highly available and cost-optimised cloud infrastructure.
  • Deliver infrastructure through Infrastructure as Code using modern automation practices.
  • Support the evolution of an AI-first engineering approach across platform delivery.
  • Build, manage and optimise Kubernetes services within Azure environments.
  • Create and enhance CI/CD pipelines to support continual delivery.
  • Implement DevSecOps principles, embedding security throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Monitor platform availability, performance and reliability while supporting incident resolution.
  • Manage cloud networking, compute and storage services with a focus on operational excellence and cost control.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Senior DevOps Engineer within Azure cloud environments.
  • Strong expertise in Terraform, Azure DevOps, YAML and ARM templates.
  • Extensive Kubernetes experience including containerisation and Helm chart management.
  • Strong Scripting and automation skills using PowerShell, Bash and Python.
  • Experience designing, building and supporting CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security, DevSecOps and secure platform architecture.
  • Experience operating within AI-assisted or AI-enabled software delivery environments and overseeing AI-generated outputs.
  • Working knowledge of .NET workloads and Linux-based environments.

Desirable Experience

  • Deploying and supporting AI or machine learning workloads in Azure.
  • Securing AI services, endpoints and AI infrastructure.
  • Experience with Bicep, AWS and Enterprise Landing Zone principles.
  • Knowledge of observability platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana or SigNoz.
  • Strong understanding of FinOps, cloud governance and identity security.
