Job description

Data is at the heart of everything we do. It supports better customer outcomes, effective risk management and innovation across the Bank. As we continue to invest in data, analytics and AI capabilities, ensuring our data is trusted, well-managed and fit for purpose has never been more important.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Risk Data Office, working at the centre of change delivery across the Risk function. The Risk Data Office sits within Risk Data Excellence and promotes effective data management, governance and oversight across the Risk function. You'll partner with colleagues across Risk, Change and Technology to ensure data impacts are understood and managed effectively as new products, processes and platforms are introduced. A key responsibility of the team is managing the Data Side of Change (DSOC) process, a critical component of the Group Change Framework.

DSOC helps ensure that data impacts arising from change initiatives are identified, assessed and managed appropriately before implementation. By focusing on areas such as data ownership, quality, lineage, approved data sources and controls, we help reduce data risk and support successful change delivery.

What you'll be doing:

  • Support the delivery of the Data Side of Change process across Risk.
  • Guide change teams through governance requirements for a wide variety data change initiatives and identify risks of non-compliance.
  • Produce management information (MI) and reporting for data forums and Risk committees.

Requirements

We're looking for curious, analytical individuals who are passionate about data and enjoy solving problems.

You don't need to be a data governance expert from day one, as we'll provide all the relevant training. If you're interested in data, enjoy collaborating with others and are keen to learn, we'd love to hear from you.

  • Experience working in a governance or change related role.
  • An interest in data and its role in supporting business outcomes and future AI capabilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with good attention to detail.
  • Good communication and partner engagement skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and build strong working relationships.
  • A proactive and curious approach with a willingness to learn and develop.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment and managing competing priorities.

And experience in any of these would be great (non essential):

  • Data, analytics, governance, risk, controls, operations, change delivery or project support.
  • Supporting governance, assurance or oversight activities.
  • Working with data, reporting or management information.
  • Financial services, risk management or regulatory environments.
  • Governance tools such as Collibra, ServiceNow or similar platforms.
  • Supporting change initiatives or impact assessments.

We know that great talent comes from many backgrounds. Whilst this job advert may reference specific years of experience, we recognise that skills are developed in many ways, so if you have relevant, transferable experience, we encourage you to apply.

Benefits & conditions

We also offer a wide-ranging benefits package, which includes:

  • A generous pension contribution of up to 15%
  • An annual performance-related bonus
  • Share schemes including free shares
  • Benefits you can adapt to your lifestyle, such as discounted shopping
  • 28 days' holiday, with bank holidays on top
  • A range of wellbeing initiatives and generous parental leave policies
