Job description
- We own and manage our AWS infrastructure as the teams DevOps experts.
- We lead the migration toward microservices and ephemeral architecture.
- We lead infrastructure as code efforts in sync with our senior colleagues.
- We establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data and application projects, especially for staging and production.
- We lead the implementation of monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure reliability.
- We manage and optimise our observability dashboards so platform health is visible and actionable.
- We take ownership of our Snowflake environment, including access controls, cost governance, performance, and data organisation.
- We help manage and govern Claude Enterprise, including usage policies, integrations, and secure use across the firm.
- We manage cloud security, IAM policies, and compliance requirements.
- We provide infrastructure support and guidance to team members working on data pipelines and applications.
- We troubleshoot infrastructure and deployment issues.
- We mentor other developers on DevOps practices, cloud architecture, infrastructure concepts, and Ops AI tooling.
- We support and encourage team members deploying and managing their data pipelines and applications.
- We conduct code and infrastructure reviews.
- We develop and share best practices for cloud-native development.
- We foster a collaborative learning environment within the team.
- We contribute to technical documentation.
- We proactively identify improvements to tooling, processes, and platform quality and take ownership through delivery.
- We enable the team to build and deploy data pipelines efficiently by providing templates and infrastructure guidance.
- We work with colleagues to understand infrastructure needs and provide solutions.
- We translate infrastructure requirements into scalable, maintainable solutions.
- We communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- We collaborate with accountancy teams to ensure data platform reliability and performance.

We are a professional services firm serving customers in the blockchain space, using technology to deliver greater efficiency and solve problems that would not otherwise be feasible. Our Developers Team builds data pipelines and reporting tools that help accountancy teams work efficiently, and this role spans cloud infrastructure, data platform engineering, and AI tooling. The position is based in London with three days in the office and two days working from home. We offer a salary of £80,000 to £100,000 plus bonus, and a small, collaborative team environment where your expertise will have direct impact. You will have the opportunity to shape and own our technical infrastructure and help create new solutions that are impactful.
Requirements
- We have 5+ years of software engineering experience with a significant cloud infrastructure focus.
- We understand networking, security, and cloud best practices.
- We have hands-on experience with AWS services.
- We are proficient with infrastructure as code tools.
- We have experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar.
- We have a solid understanding of containerization and orchestration, including Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS.
- We have experience with monitoring and observability tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog, Prometheus, or similar.
- We have hands-on experience managing Snowflake, including warehouses, RBAC, cost controls, and query performance.
- We are proficient in bash.
- We have experience supporting development teams with infrastructure and deployment needs.
- We understand microservices architecture and serverless patterns.
- We have experience working in teams outside the realm of Software Engineering.
- We have demonstrated experience mentoring or managing mid-level engineers.
- We have strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- We can provide clear technical guidance and support.
- We take a pragmatic approach to balancing technical delivery with business needs.
- Python experience for infrastructure automation and tooling is desirable.
- Familiarity with data pipeline infrastructure, ETL workloads, data warehousing, and Snowflake or a comparable cloud data warehouse is desirable.
- Experience with data governance and compliance requirements is desirable.
- Cloud cost and resource utilisation optimisation experience is desirable.
- Experience migrating from monolithic to microservice architectures is desirable.
- Experience deploying or governing enterprise AI tooling such as Claude Enterprise, Copilot, or similar is desirable, particularly around secure rollout, usage policies, and MCP integrations.
