Job description
Join a leading healthcare organization advancing research through innovative technology solutions. We are seeking an experienced Database Steward/Application Support Engineer to support research data platforms, enterprise applications, and IT service management within the Division of Research. This role combines database administration, workflow automation, AI-enabled tools, application support, and data governance to empower researchers, analysts, and data scientists., * Administer and support research applications, databases, and enterprise platforms.
- Manage application licensing, upgrades, patches, configurations, and vendor relationships.
- Support database environments, reporting, workflow automation, and data governance initiatives.
- Assist end users with Python, R, SQL, scripting, AI tools, and code optimization.
- Develop automation opportunities and improve operational workflows.
- Coordinate software deployments, infrastructure updates, and security-related changes.
- Lead technical projects from planning through implementation while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Create technical documentation, SOPs, knowledge articles, and operational reports.
- Support ITSM processes including Incident, Problem, Change, Knowledge Management, and Service Reporting.
- Work closely with research teams, data scientists, analysts, vendors, and IT leadership., Work Schedule: Candidates must be willing to work overtime as needed to support business priorities, critical system updates, production issues, and other time-sensitive operational requirements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise applications, databases, or data platforms (3 4 years considered for strong technical candidates).
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Analytics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience with SQL, Python and/or R.
- Experience in Database administration.
- Experience in ITSM/ITIL practices, including workflow automation.
- Experience in open-source technologies.
- Previous exposure and/or experience in data governance and reporting.
- Experience supporting enterprise applications and working directly with business users.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and customer support skills.
