Job description
The primary purpose of this position is to provide senior-level business and systems analysis, modeling, and programming for disparate and highly complex applications in a variety of environments. This position requires an extensive level of developing, enhancing, and maintaining ReactJS applications hosted in AWS cloud environments. The role spans the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, technical design, front-end and full-stack development, cloud deployment, testing, troubleshooting, and ongoing production support.
This position will work closely with clients, Technical Leads, and IT leadership to deliver new application features, support cloud-based infrastructure, evaluate system impacts, ensure quality, and maintain compliance with established security and change-management standards. The position also contributes to modernization activities, cloud service integration, documentation, and resolving technical issues across distributed systems., * Develop, enhance, and maintain ReactJS applications using modern JavaScript and component-driven practices
- Integrate React front-end components with backend services, REST APIs, and GraphQL
- Support cloud-based deployments and operations within AWS using services such as ECS, EC2, S3, Lambda, Aurora, CloudWatch, Auto Scaling, Route 53, VPC, IAM, and SQS
- Participate in requirements analysis, solution design, and effort estimation for new features and system improvements
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in development, test, and production environments, including cloud-hosted components
- Write and maintain technical documentation, application workflows, and implementation details
- Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to ensure secure, reliable, and scalable application performance
- Assist in modernizing existing system components, adopting cloud-native patterns, and improving overall application stability
- Support CI/CD processes using AWS APIs, CLI, SDKs, and automated pipelines for application releases and environment updates, The Office of the Secretary serves as the executive leadership arm of the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS), guiding the Department's mission to improve the health, safety, and well-being of all North Carolinians. The ITD division comprises four sections: Implementation and Operations, Strategy and Workforce, Enterprise Technology, and Vendor and Finance. Requirements
The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:
- Demonstrated experience developing and enhancing ReactJS applications using ES6+, React Hooks, functional components, and modern component-driven architecture.
- Experience integrating React front-end components with GraphQL and RESTful APIs, alongside strong UI development skills using HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, and React- Bootstrap.
- Working knowledge of AWS cloud services including ECS, EC2, S3, Elastic Load Balancer, Auto Scaling, CloudWatch, Security Groups, Route 53, VPC, IAM, Aurora, Lambda, and SQS, with the ability to deploy and support React applications in these environments.
- Proficiency using AWS service APIs, AWS CLI, SDKs, and CI/CD pipelines to automate builds, deployments, and cloud environment updates.
- Hands-on experience with Docker-based development and PostgreSQL database integration, with strong debugging skills for resolving front-end, backend, and cloud-hosted application issues., Some state job postings say you can qualify by an "equivalent combination of education and experience." Bachelor's degree in computer science or an IT related field or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of progressive experience in business application consulting or development, Associate degree in computer science or an IT related field or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of progressive experience in business application consulting or development, High School or General Education Development (GED) diploma and eight years of experience in business application consulting or development, An equivalent combination of education and experience.
