Job description

  • Lead or support end-to-end SAP RAR implementations, upgrades, and enhancements, including configuration of Performance Obligation Types (POTs), fulfillment items, and revenue recognition keys.
  • Translate complex A&D contract terms (long-duration programs, milestone billing, cost-reimbursable and firm-fixed-price contracts) into SAP RAR configuration and contract management strategies.
  • Manage integration between SAP RAR and upstream/downstream modules including SD, PS (Project Systems), CO/PCA, FI, and revenue-relevant interfaces from CRM or custom billing systems.
  • Support revenue recognition processes aligned with ASC 606 and IFRS 15, including identification of performance obligations, transaction price allocation, and recognition timing for A&D programs.
  • Work with Program Management, Contracts, and FP&A teams to ensure accurate mapping of contract modifications, change orders, and program re-baselining into RAR.
  • Develop functional specifications, test scripts, and documentation for RAR enhancements, including support for percentage-of-completion and cost-to-cost revenue recognition methods common in A&D long-term contracts.

Requirements

We are seeking an experienced SAP Revenue Accounting and Reporting (RAR) professional with deep exposure to the Aerospace & Defense (A&D) industry. The ideal candidate will bring strong functional knowledge of SAP RAR (FI-RA), revenue recognition under ASC 606 / IFRS 15, and a solid understanding of A&D-specific contract structures such as long-term programs, cost-plus and fixed-price contracts, percentage-of-completion (POC) accounting, and government contracting nuances (FAR/DFARS). This role will support implementation, optimization, and ongoing operations of SAP RAR within complex, program-based revenue environments., * 13+ years of SAP experience, with at least 6 years focused specifically on SAP RAR (Revenue Accounting and Reporting) or SAP RAI (Revenue Accounting and Insights).

  • Demonstrated experience working within the Aerospace & Defense industry, with familiarity with long-term contract accounting, program-based revenue models, and government contracting requirements (FAR/DFARS, CAS).
  • Strong knowledge of ASC 606 / IFRS 15 revenue recognition principles, particularly as applied to multi-year, multi-element A&D contracts.
  • Hands-on configuration experience with SAP RAR components: Performance Obligations, Fulfillment, Revenue Recognition Keys, Pricing/Allocation, and Contract Management.
  • Experience integrating SAP RAR with SD, PS, CO, and FI modules.
  • Understanding percentage-of-completion (POC), cost-to-cost, and milestone-based revenue recognition methods.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work across Finance, Program Management, and Contracts teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to translate technical RAR concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA RAR (RAI) and migration projects from legacy revenue recognition tools.
  • Prior experience supporting government/defense contractors with cost-plus, T&M, or IDIQ contract types.
  • Familiarity with EVMS (Earned Value Management Systems) and how they intersect with revenue recognition reporting.
  • Experience with SAP Project Systems (PS) in a program-based manufacturing environment.
  • SAP certification in RAR, S/4HANA Finance, or related modules.
