Job description
Unison Systems is looking for a skilled Salesforce Release Engineer (Copado) for our client located in San Jose, CA. This role takes full ownership of releases and deployments in Salesforce, managing the end-to-end release lifecycle across multiple environments. Sitting at the intersection of development, QA, and business stakeholders, this highly visible position calls for someone equally comfortable owning the technical pipeline and coordinating the people and timelines around each release. This is a long-term contract with the possibility of converting to full time in the future., * Own and manage the end-to-end Salesforce release and deployment process across all environments.
- Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Copado and Azure DevOps.
- Define and manage sandbox and environment strategy, including refresh cycles and data seeding.
- Oversee version control, branching, and merge strategy in Git, resolving conflicts as they arise.
- Coordinate release schedules, cutover plans, and go-live activities with developers, admins, and business stakeholders.
- Track and communicate release status, risks, and dependencies to project leadership.
- Support off-hour release schedules and work core PST hours to align with the team.
Requirements
- Hands-on Salesforce experience, including metadata, change sets, and platform deployment concepts.
- Copado experience, including pipelines, user stories, and automated deployments.
- Azure DevOps experience, including boards, repos, and release pipelines.
- Git proficiency, including branching, merging, and conflict resolution.
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills, a management mindset, self-motivation, a proactive approach, the ability to lead, and strong attention to detail.
- Willingness to work PST hours and support an off-hour release schedule.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- CI/CD and release automation best practices.
- Sandbox and environment management.
- Salesforce DevOps tooling such as SFDX, Salesforce CLI, or equivalent.
- Agile/Scrum delivery experience.
