Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer / IT Generalist with extensive hands-on experience across networking, servers, cloud platforms, cybersecurity, and enterprise infrastructure. This role is ideal for a technical leader who thrives in complex environments, works independently, solves challenging problems, and delivers an exceptional customer experience. The successful candidate will serve as a senior technical resource, escalation point, project lead, and mentor while supporting diverse IT environments and driving infrastructure excellence. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, configure, and troubleshoot complex IT infrastructure with minimal supervision.
  • Serve as the highest level of technical escalation for networking, server, cloud, and security-related issues.
  • Lead infrastructure deployments, upgrades, migrations, and technology refresh projects.
  • Administer, optimize, and support Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Azure environments.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot both physical and virtual server environments.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service during both remote and onsite engagements.
  • Mentor and develop Tier 1 and Tier 2 engineers while promoting technical best practices.
  • Maintain thorough technical documentation and communicate effectively with clients and internal teams.
  • Identify opportunities to improve infrastructure performance, security, and operational efficiency.

Technical Qualifications Enterprise Networking

  • Expert-level experience configuring and troubleshooting enterprise networking environments.
  • Hands-on expertise with Cisco, Meraki, Dell, Aruba, HP ProCurve, Ubiquiti, and comparable networking platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of:

o VLANs o Routing and Switching o VPN Technologies o Firewall Configuration o Network Segmentation o TCP/IP and DNS o Wireless Networking o Network Security

Servers & Virtualization

  • Deployment, administration, and troubleshooting of enterprise server hardware.
  • Extensive experience with:

o VMware ESXi o Microsoft Hyper-V

  • Experience supporting enterprise storage platforms including Synology, Dell EMC, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of backup solutions, disaster recovery, replication, and business continuity planning.

Microsoft Cloud & Azure

  • Advanced administration of Microsoft 365, including:

o Exchange Online o SharePoint Online o Microsoft Teams o Intune o Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)

  • Experience designing, deploying, and supporting Azure infrastructure, including:

o Virtual Networks o Virtual Machines o Identity & Access Management o Azure Security

  • Ability to independently architect, implement, and troubleshoot cloud environments.

Security & Physical Access Control

  • Experience implementing and supporting enterprise security and access control solutions, including:

o Paxton Net2 o ProdataKey o Turing o Milestone o Axis o Hikvision o Similar enterprise platforms

  • Knowledge of complete security system deployments, including controllers, cameras, cabling, networking, and system integration.

Printers & Peripheral Devices

  • Strong troubleshooting skills for enterprise printers, scanners, copiers, and related peripherals.
  • Ability to diagnose both hardware and software issues, including internal component failures and connectivity problems.

Unified Communications & VoIP

  • Experience administering Avaya Cloud Office, including:

o User provisioning o Call routing o Auto attendants o System optimization

  • Strong knowledge of Avaya IP Office, including

Requirements

  • Experience troubleshooting VoIP performance issues including latency, jitter, packet loss, and Quality of

Service (QoS).

  • Experience migrating legacy phone systems to cloud-based communications platforms with minimal business disruption., * 10+ years of hands-on IT infrastructure and systems administration experience.
  • Proven ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Strong experience leading technical projects from planning through implementation.
  • Excellent customer-facing communication and documentation skills.
  • Experience supporting multiple client environments; Managed Service Provider (MSP) experience is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers and lead by example.

Preferred Certifications

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent networking certification
