Job description

We are seeking a Splunk Engineer for a role based in Alexandria, VA. This position involves a hybrid work model, with a requirement for three days onsite per week. The engineer will be responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and development of Splunk solutions, supporting critical mission applications., * Configure and maintain Splunk Core, Enterprise Security, and other premium Splunk applications.

  • Perform the onboarding of new data sets and routinely review the health of ingested data.
  • Manage data inputs and indexing, and perform troubleshooting activities related to the Splunk Enterprise architecture and user access.
  • Deploy technical add-ons and application plug-ins to establish baseline dashboards and alerts.
  • Support teams in using Splunk for log analysis and monitoring through guidance on dashboard development best practices.
  • Design efficient and reusable reports and dashboards to integrate data from multiple mission applications into Splunk.

Requirements

Education: A Bachelor's degree is required. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Clearance: Ability to obtain/maintain DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance.

Experience: A minimum of 8 years of overall IT experience is required.

Technical Skills: A strong background in Splunk, with the ability to build, maintain, and develop within the platform is necessary.

Certifications: Candidates must hold one of the following active certifications prior to starting: CEH, Cloud+, CySA+, GFACT, GSEC, PenTest+, Sec+, or SSCP., * Splunk Enterprise Certified Administrator certification.

  • Foundational knowledge and experience with Linux operating systems.
  • Experience working in cloud environments.
  • Experience supporting government clients.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Benefits & conditions

The anticipated salary range for this position is $140,000.00 to $150,000.00 annually. A comprehensive benefits package is available to eligible employees.
