Job description
We are seeking a Systems Architect to support enterprise Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) initiatives across cloud and hybrid environments. This role will focus on onboarding datasets into DSPM platforms, improving visibility into sensitive data, and implementing data discovery, classification, structuring, and scanning capabilities to strengthen the organization's overall data security posture.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with cloud security, data governance, and data protection technologies, helping organizations identify, classify, monitor, and secure sensitive data across enterprise platforms. This individual will work closely with security, infrastructure, engineering, and data teams to implement security controls, reduce risk exposure, and support regulatory compliance requirements. Responsibilities
- Lead the onboarding and integration of structured and unstructured datasets into Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) platforms.
- Design and implement enterprise data discovery, classification, and scanning capabilities.
- Identify, classify, and monitor sensitive data across cloud storage platforms, databases, file systems, and data repositories.
- Support the implementation and administration of DSPM solutions used for data structuring, visibility, risk identification, and remediation.
- Develop and maintain security controls protecting data at rest and in transit.
- Collaborate with cloud, infrastructure, governance, compliance, and application teams to improve overall data security posture.
- Architect and support Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and CI/CD automation for secure deployment of security tools and controls.
- Partner with business and technical stakeholders to establish data classification standards and governance processes.
- Analyze data security risks, recommend remediation strategies, and support execution efforts.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud services, security technologies, and data protection platforms.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, cloud security, data engineering, or related technical disciplines.
- Experience supporting Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) initiatives.
- Hands-on experience onboarding enterprise datasets into security, governance, or data management platforms.
- Strong knowledge of data discovery, data classification, data scanning, and sensitive data identification methodologies.
- Experience securing public cloud data services including AWS S3, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Files, and various database technologies.
- Knowledge of Identity and Access Management (IAM), secrets management, encryption, and key management concepts.
- Experience protecting data at rest and in motion across cloud and hybrid environments.
- Experience working within multi-cloud environments.
- Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code deployments.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with DSPM and data governance platforms such as BigID, Cyera, Microsoft Purview, Varonis, Securiti, Wiz, or similar technologies.
- Experience implementing enterprise data classification and scanning solutions.
- Knowledge of cloud-native security architectures.
- Experience with Kubernetes, microservices, and serverless technologies.
- Industry certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, CCSK, AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, Data Engineer, or equivalent.
