Job description
- Architect and automate cloud infrastructure using Terraform, Azure Resource Manager, and other InfrastructureasCode frameworks.
- Design and build robust, secure, and maintainable solutions using modern programming languages such as Python or Java.
- Deep understanding and building applications using AKS, Serverless functions, Web technologies, Databases etc.
- Deep understanding of migrating complex onprem applications to Azure, AWS, or GCP, contributing to BNY's enterprise cloud strategy.
- Participate in full SDLC processes - from concept and design through testing, deployment, and ongoing optimization.
- Collaborate closely with Security, IAM, and Architecture teams to ensure compliance, identity integration, and robust enterprise guardrails.
- Create clear, userfocused documentation that strengthens operational excellence.
- Stay ahead of emerging cloud trends, tools, and best practices to continuously improve our engineering culture.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required. 7-9 years of experience in software development required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience as a Cloud Engineer, or Software Engineer with cloud-native responsibilities.
- Deep expertise in InfrastructureasCode using Terraform or similar technologies.
- Strong programming proficiency (Python, Java, or similar).
- Handson experience with at least one major cloud platform (Azure, AWS, or GCP). Multicloud experience is a strong plus.
- Broad familiarity with cloud fundamentals: compute, serverless, IAM, networking, Security, Containers, DNS, storage, monitoring, and logging.
- Working knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD tooling (Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitLab, Terraform, Ansible).
- Strong communication, analytical thinking, and troubleshooting capabilities.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $80,000 and $165,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
