Job description
As an Automated Systems Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining the efficiency and reliability of high-speed robotic storage and retrieval systems. You will utilize Human/Machine Interface (HMI) technology to monitor performance, troubleshoot mechanical faults, and ensure our automated infrastructure consistently meets throughput goals. Responsibilities
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and OSHA standards while operating and maintaining complex robotic equipment.
- Perform pre-production inspections to verify that automated adapters and storage systems are fully operational.
- Monitor the flow of inbound and outbound goods to maximize system throughput and cases-per-hour metrics.
- Diagnose and resolve system stoppages using HMI terminals, manual intervention, and root cause analysis.
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and component validation to minimize downtime.
- Execute recovery procedures for robotic vehicles and perform hardware upkeep such as sensor calibration and brush replacement.
- Collaborate with technical teams to escalate production issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain clear communication with leadership regarding system health and operational status.
Requirements
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical or software-related stoppages in an automated environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to prioritize tasks to maximize system uptime.
- Physical capability to work at heights up to 45 feet and in confined spaces as narrow as 24 inches.
- Ability to lift up to 60lbs and perform repetitive physical tasks for extended shifts.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals and safety procedures in English., * Previous experience in automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS) or similar robotics environments.
- Technical background in electrical systems, sensor maintenance, or mechanical repair.
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies and process optimization.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in temperature-controlled environments ranging from 32° to 105°F.
