Job description

Amatrol is seeking an Industrial Automation Support Specialist to provide technical support, field service, and system commissioning for our industry-leading training systems. This role combines customer support, hands-on technical work, and collaboration with our manufacturing and engineering teams to ensure customers receive exceptional service and reliable solutions.

Whether your background is in automation, electrical systems, electronics, HVAC/R, fluid power, mechatronics, robotics, or industrial maintenance, we offer the opportunity to expand your technical expertise while making a real impact.

What You'll Do

  • Deliver technical support and troubleshooting assistance to customers via phone, email, and remote support tools.
  • Install, configure, and commission Amatrol training systems at customer locations throughout North America.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical, electronic, mechanical, and automation-related issues.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams to identify root causes and drive continuous improvement.
  • Test and evaluate products to ensure performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Document support activities and share technical knowledge that enhances both customer and internal team success.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical, electronic, mechanical, or automation systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% annually.

Preferred Experience

Experience with one or more of the following:

  • PLCs and industrial controls
  • Robotics and automation systems
  • Electrical and electronic systems
  • HVAC/R equipment
  • Pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Mechatronics systems
  • Industrial maintenance and troubleshooting
