Job description

This role is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and optimization of interoperability solutions across healthcare systems, applications, and platforms. The individual will ensure seamless and secure data exchange between disparate systems utilizing industry standards such as HL7, FHIR, CDA, X12, APIs, and related integration technologies. The consultant will collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, and clients to deliver interoperability solutions that align with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and organizational standards., Solution Design & Implementation

  • Analyze business and technical requirements to design and implement healthcare interoperability solutions.
  • Configure, deploy, and support integration platforms and interface engines, including technologies such as Mirth, Rhapsody, Cloverleaf, and API-based integrations.
  • Develop scalable and secure integration architectures that support healthcare data exchange and interoperability initiatives.
  • Recommend best practices and technical solutions to optimize system connectivity and performance.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders during implementation and integration projects.
  • Lead discovery sessions, gather business and technical requirements, and translate them into detailed functional and technical specifications.
  • Build strong relationships with business partners, technology teams, vendors, and leadership to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Provide ongoing consultation and guidance on interoperability strategies and healthcare technology solutions.

Technical Integration & Support

  • Design, develop, test, and support interfaces between EHR systems, Health Information Exchanges (HIEs), utilization management platforms, and third-party applications.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve interoperability and data exchange issues while maintaining system reliability and performance.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, security standards, and healthcare industry regulations.
  • Support production environments and provide post-implementation technical assistance as needed.

Project Leadership

  • Manage project timelines, deliverables, risks, and stakeholder communications throughout the implementation lifecycle.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution and deployment of interoperability initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, workflow diagrams, training materials, and support resources.
  • Provide knowledge transfer and training to internal teams and business users.

Compliance & Industry Standards

  • Ensure adherence to healthcare interoperability standards, including HL7 v2/v3, FHIR, CDA, X12, and related regulatory requirements.
  • Stay informed of emerging healthcare interoperability regulations, technologies, and industry trends.
  • Promote best practices for data governance, security, privacy, and system interoperability.

Additional Responsibilities

In addition to serving as an Interoperability Consultant, this individual will act as a key IT liaison between internal business partners, external clients, vendors, and technology teams. The role requires the ability to bridge business and technical requirements, facilitate effective communication across stakeholders, and drive alignment on strategic technology initiatives.

Requirements

This position requires a deep understanding of eviCore's proprietary Utilization Management (UM) platform and associated business processes. The successful candidate will serve as the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the UM application, providing technical leadership, consultation, and guidance for all interoperability and integration efforts involving the platform. Expertise in utilization management workflows, healthcare operations, system integrations, and data exchange processes is essential.
