Job description
We are seeking a Platform Engineer to join our team. This role involves a combination of Linux administration, scripting, software development, and configuration management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the development and management of DevOps deployment automation processes and will troubleshoot solutions across the technology stack, including networks, storage, compute, and application layers.
Clearance: Candidates must be able to obtain and/or maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level Security Clearance as a condition or continuation of employment.
Requirements
- 5+ years of a combination of Linux, scripting/software development, and configuration management experience.
- Technical proficiency in Red Hat Enterprise Linux ecosystem, Palo Alto firewalls, and Windows Server/Client OS.
- Proficiency in Ansible, Python, Bash, and other shell scripting.
- Experience with revision control software such as Bitbucket, Git, GitLab, or GitLab CI.
- Experience in the development and management of DevOps deployment automation processes.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot solutions across the tech stack including networks, storage, compute, and application layers.
- Experience working in Kanban and Scrum environments.
- Ability to obtain DoD 8570 IAT Level II or III certification (e.g., Security+, CASP, CISSP) within 90 days of the start date.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- SE Linux configuration and policy experience.
- Experience with Red Hat KVM for virtualization management.
- Experience with Identity Management systems including IDM (FreeIPA), LDAP, and token-based authentication systems.
- Systems Management experience deploying Red Hat Satellite in offline mode.
- System Deployment experience with Red Hat Edge Manager.
- Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, containerized operating systems (bootc), and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, ARM templates).
- Experience with repository managers such as Red Hat Quay and Sonatype Nexus.
- Knowledge of networking best practices with respect to Zero Trust Architecture.
- Experience with Solaris 10 system administration, especially concerning MLS.
- Experience with Red Hat OpenShift.
- Experience with Oracle Database and SQL.
- Red Hat certifications (e.g., Red Hat RHCE, Red Hat RHCSA).
- Active DoD 8570 IAT Level II or III certification.
Benefits & conditions
The anticipated pay range for this position is $70.00/hr to $95.00/hr. Please note that the final pay rate will be determined based on a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, qualifications, and the specific requirements of the role.
