Job description
We are seeking a Principal IT Project Manager to oversee the execution of complex Information Technology projects. This role is accountable for managing projects with a high level of risk and complexity, including large-scale programs. The position requires employing project management frameworks, with a preference for Scrum/Agile, to ensure the delivery of high-quality products while optimizing cost and value. The ideal candidate will maintain transparency on project status, cost, and delivery forecasts to enable informed business decisions., * Verify project scope and establish methods for management and control.
- Plan, estimate, schedule, and trend project progress.
- Estimate, budget, and control project costs.
- Develop and implement quality assurance programs.
- Identify and manage project and program risks.
- Develop and manage procurement plans for complex initiatives.
- Direct and coach team members on project management skills and techniques.
- Ensure team collaboration and promote continuous improvement.
- Serve as a program manager for highly complex programs, including the supervision of sub-team project managers.
Requirements
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field; or an Associate's degree with 2 years of related technical/project management experience; or a High School Diploma/GED with 4 years of related business or technical/project management experience.
Experience: A minimum of 8 years of combined IT and Business experience (in addition to any educational experience substitutions), including work in project management, Agile Framework, major construction, or engineering. The following experience is also required:
- 2 years of prior experience with Cloud technologies.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience with at least one major Cloud provider (e.g., AWS, Azure, OCI, Google).
- 2 years of prior experience as an Agile Scrum Master.
- 5+ years of experience creating and presenting updates to all organizational levels.
Skills and Certifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to pivot and coach team members and sponsors with limited exposure to Scrum/Agile practices.
- A certification aligned with the project management discipline is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with multiple project types (e.g., in-house development, vendor, off-shore).
- Knowledge and experience using multiple project management frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Waterfall).
- Management experience is considered a plus.
