Our mission-driven team is seeking a bold and dynamic Principal Systems Engineer who is fueled by high accountability, execution horsepower, and driven to understand our world, science/technology, and life itself, for the benefit of all on Earth and beyond., Since Axiom Space is a very complex work environment, we are looking for a resilient, high-energy Principal Systems Engineer who will primarily be responsible for leading major testing campaigns for the AxEVA System. This position reports to Systems Engineering and Integration Manager. This role is onsite at Axiom in Webster, Texas., Duties and responsibilities may include task from one or all of these responsibility areas:
End-to-end, cradle-to-grave Systems Engineering for Axiom EVA Systems, including Suits, Flight Support Equipment, Training Equipment, Ground Equipment, and EVA Tools.
Responsible for Axiom EVA Systems conception, including 1) concept of operations, functions, and interfaces, 2) subsystem-level requirements, 3) procurement specifications, including synthesis, traceability, derivation, stakeholder needs, impact assessments, and requirements maintenance and updates
Responsible for definition, planning, coordination and closure for verification of EVA requirements
Responsible for definition, planning, coordination and closure for validation activities of Axiom EVA concepts of operations
Define and implement requirements and design validation activities.
Coordinate Axiom EVA system product breakdown structures and architecture definition
Support Axiom EVA Systems development by providing down-and-in system and subsystem-level support and information, including change impacts to/from other areas of the AxEVA System
Define and maintain System and Subsystem integrated performance assessments
Monitor design and testing progress and communicate potential issues to SE&I
Develop waivers and other variances
Communicate System Engineering and Integration progress and status
Collaborate with system and subsystem engineer, program office personnel, and external customers for SE&I planning, scheduling, and execution
Perform additional job duties as assigned
Coordinate integrated Verification & Validation (V&V test plans, procedures, and schedules) across all engineering teams.
Plan, coordinate, and implement spacesuit verification and validation activities, including:
Defining system, subsystem, and component V&V approaches
Defining V&V requirements
Planning and coordinating implementation of V&V activities
Define and coordinate V&V requirements for suppliers as part of the integrated V&V plan.
Collaborate with AxEVA System and subsystem engineers, program office personnel, and customers for V&V planning, scheduling and execution.
Coordinate test and analysis plans and presentations with peers, management, and external customers and partners.
Capture evidence from completed V&V activities to create verification closure notices and coordinate requirement close-out.
Perform other systems engineering tasks as necessary.

Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in an engineering (aerospace, electrical, mechanical, or related discipline)
10+ years of experience in System Engineering and Integration
Track record of making things happen in ambiguous, fast-moving environments

Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.
Requirements
This position may require access to export controlled technical data or technology subject to NASA regulations, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). In accordance with U.S. export control laws, final candidates may be required to undergo additional export control screening to determine eligibility for access. Meeting these requirements is a condition of employment.
