Job description

American Express Company seeks Directors, Data Science to drive the strategic analysis of credit metrics and credit provision., Lead the provision of credit-related analytical support, and develop and present key analyses and recommendations to management. Serve as the decisionmaker for developing analytics that identify trends and opportunities in the portfolio in order to optimize business and risk decisions. Own specific data assets and applications, ensuring the team's use of data science tools, when troubleshooting issues, reconciling results, identifying improvements and automation opportunities, and training other users to drive adoption.

Requirements

Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Statistics, Quantitative Economics, Operations Research, Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, followed by 5 years of progressively responsible risk management and risk analysis experience. Experience must include 2 years of experience with each of the following: credit risk data from credit bureaus and internal credit source, source systems, and data management processes; providing strategic guidance on risk information system implementation and enhancements, new data evaluation, and regulatory audit strategies; working with professional teams in multiple geographies; data analysis and transforming credit and risk capabilities using Big Data technologies, including Pig, Hive, and R; linear regression models, logistic regression models, and advanced machine learning models, including kNN, and GBM techniques; and Base SAS, SAS Enterprise Guide, SPSS, SQL, and Teradata.
