Job description
This position will be in support of the NYS Tax Modernization Program and is targeted for the Real Property Systems Modernization project. The position will lead design and development, as well as, develop programs and functionality for the modernization of the real property system.

Assisting with the technical design for modernization of legacy systems.

Coordinating the technical solutions among various technical support groups.

Implementing technical solutions.

Developing processing system components and maintaining existing processing systems.

Supporting production tasks including analysis of issue, proposing and implementing solutions for defect resolution.

Coordinating with development team on development activities and integration testing.

Developing technical design documents and program specifications.

Guiding requirements gathering sessions.

Guiding the analysis of requirements and system design work.

Coding, and performing unit and integration tests of programming assignments.

Writing and tuning SQL.

Supporting user testing efforts.

Performance tune new and existing.

Mentoring less experienced staff.
Software Architect Makes high-level design choices and dictates technical standards, including software coding standards, tools, and platforms. Designs multi-leveled architecture or component interactions of a large scale software system. Expert 84+ months: Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.
Requirements
48 months experience with Real Property Tax (e.g. valuation, assessments and exemptions). 24 months experience programming multi-tier ColdFusion web applications using Dreamweaver or CF Builder IDE and deployed in a CF9 or greater UNIX environment and with Sybase RDMS. 84 months of IBM DB2 experience working with DB2 databases and XML schemas (definition, querying and automated generation). 60 months experience in performance tuning applications interacting with databases. 60 months of experience in messaging technologies, such as MQ, JMS, Kafka. 84 months of experience in system analysis and design of multi-tiered transactional systems. 84 months experience with J2EE technologies including JDBC, JSP and XML. 84 months experience developing, building, and testing Java EE applications using modern IDE's, such as Eclipse, Netbeans, or IntelliJ. 84 months experience using J2EE based Application Servers such as Websphere, WebLogic, TomCat, JBoss etc.
