Job description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented On-Site Bench Technician to join our technical support team. The Bench Technician will be primarily responsible for receiving, managing the inventory of, configuring, and shipping client hardware orders. They will also occasionally spend time diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various types of computer hardware and other electronic devices. This position requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced environment., * Provide exceptional customer service in person, over the phone, and in writing to a variety of external and internal customers.
- Communicate clearly about the status of configurations or repairs and provide realistic timelines for job completion.
- Maintain a positive, can-do attitude - especially when things get busy
- Utilize Autotask ticketing system to prioritize, track and document all work.
- Follow documented processes to configure various types of hardware to specifications required
- Provide computer support; including software and hardware troubleshooting, configuration and installation.
- Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on computer systems, including hardware and software updates.
- Use diagnostic tools properly to determine issues with hardware and software
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair hardware issues on devices such as desktops, laptops, etc.
- Conduct component-level repairs and replacements, such as motherboards, hard drives, power supplies, and memory.
- Test and install operating systems, drivers, and software as needed.
- Remotely access computer hardware and software to assist team members with troubleshooting issues
- Stay current with new technologies and advancements in hardware and software.
- Receive shipments and QA shipment manifests to confirm order items and quantities are correct.
- Inventory assets and ensure accurate entry of inventory in asset management system in order to maintain correct inventory quantities.
- Pack and prepare shipments for delivery
- Be reliable and detail oriented
- Follow up on all assigned open service tickets to ensure timely and effective resolution of issues. Maintain accurate documentation of work done

- Ensure a clean, safe, and organized workspace is maintained.
- Provide onsite support related to equipment installation when needed.
Requirements
- EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 2 years of experience in computer hardware repair or a related technical role.
- EDUCATION: A high school diploma or GED is required; some college coursework in IT or relevant technical certifications (CompTIA A+) are preferred.
- Strong knowledge of hardware components, troubleshooting techniques, and electronic repair processes.
- Exposure to a wide range of operating systems, including Windows, macOS, and UNIX.
- Familiarity with common diagnostic tools and equipment for testing and repairing hardware.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for traveling to our office.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs).
