Job description

The Senior Category Insights Analyst, Foodservice plays a critical role in supporting the commercial organization through business analysis, sales reporting, category insights, and project coordination. This role partners closely with the Chief Growth Officer and cross-functional teams to provide actionable insights, maintain commercial reporting, and support the execution of growth initiatives., Sales Reporting & Analytics

  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales reports, KPI dashboards, and revenue analyses.
  • Monitor sales performance against goals and identify meaningful trends and variances.
  • Support sales forecasting and budgeting activities by compiling and validating data.
  • Maintain CRM and ERP data integrity to ensure accurate reporting and visibility into customer activity.
  • Assist in developing executive-level presentations and business updates.

Sales Operations & Project Support

  • Coordinate timelines and deliverables for commercial initiatives by tracking action items and following up with stakeholders.
  • Support cross-functional projects involving Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance, and R&D.
  • Prepare meeting agendas, capture meeting notes, and document action items.
  • Assist with new product launch coordination and customer project tracking.

Category & Business Insights

  • Analyze foodservice industry trends, customer performance, and competitive activity using internal and external data sources.
  • Utilize tools such as Technomic, Datassential, CRM, ERP, and internal sales reports to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Develop recurring reports and dashboards that provide actionable insights for sales leadership.
  • Support category reviews, customer business reviews, and annual planning presentations.
  • Assist in pricing and promotional analysis by evaluating customer trends and business performance.

Requirements

The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and highly organized, with the ability to transform data into meaningful business recommendations while coordinating multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment., * Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Economics, or a related field.

  • 3-5 years of experience in business analysis, sales analytics, category management, sales operations, or commercial support.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, Power Query preferred).
  • Strong PowerPoint presentation development skills.
  • Experience working with CRM and ERP systems.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative environment.

Preferred

  • Foodservice or food manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with Technomic, Datassential, Circana, or similar market research tools.
  • Exposure to Salesforce, Sage, NetSuite, or Blacksmith.
  • Experience supporting National Accounts or commercial teams.
  • Familiarity with Power BI or Tableau.

A reasonable estimate of the current range is $40.00 - $45.00 per hour.
