Software Engineer III

• Building and enhancing user interfaces for our web applications, working closely with engineering leaders to deliver high-quality, responsive, and maintainable UI components
• Developing new features, refining existing workflows, improving performance, and contributing to UI best practices across our applications, * Domestic travel: Up to 10 % of the year (approximately two weeks) for site visits, security assessments, or briefings at other DoD locations

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field; or equivalent professional experience

• Professional experience developing front-end applications using React

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS

• Experience consuming RESTful APIs in front-end applications

• Familiarity with Git-based version control workflows

• Ability to work independently, manage tasks, and deliver consistent results in a part-time capacity

• Experience with front-end build tools such as Webpack, Vite, or similar

• Familiarity with modern React patterns (Hooks, Context API, React Router)

• Experience with UI component libraries such as Material UI, Chakra UI, or similar

• Understanding of responsive design principles and accessibility best practices

• Experience troubleshooting and optimizing front-end performance

• Previous experience working in Agile development environments

• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical teams
