Job description
- Building and enhancing user interfaces for our web applications, working closely with engineering leaders to deliver high-quality, responsive, and maintainable UI components
- Developing new features, refining existing workflows, improving performance, and contributing to UI best practices across our applications, * Domestic travel: Up to 10 % of the year (approximately two weeks) for site visits, security assessments, or briefings at other DoD locations

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field; or equivalent professional experience

Professional experience developing front-end applications using React

Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS

Experience consuming RESTful APIs in front-end applications

Familiarity with Git-based version control workflows

Ability to work independently, manage tasks, and deliver consistent results in a part-time capacity

Experience with front-end build tools such as Webpack, Vite, or similar

Familiarity with modern React patterns (Hooks, Context API, React Router)

Experience with UI component libraries such as Material UI, Chakra UI, or similar

Understanding of responsive design principles and accessibility best practices

Experience troubleshooting and optimizing front-end performance

Previous experience working in Agile development environments

Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical teams
