Job description
Our Client is looking for an IT Systems & Network Technician to support clients in Flint- Metro, Michigan by delivering dependable technical assistance across both systems and network environments. This position blends hands-on troubleshooting with proactive infrastructure support, making it ideal for someone who can balance end-user service with strong networking knowledge. The successful candidate will help maintain secure, stable client environments while keeping technical records organized and current.
Responsibilities:
Provide first- and second-level technical support for client systems, resolving issues related to desktops, servers, connectivity, and user access.
Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network equipment and security devices, including firewalls, routers, VPNs, and cloud-managed networking platforms.
Monitor client environments to identify performance concerns, service interruptions, and security risks before they become larger problems.
Administer Windows 10 and 11 endpoints along with Windows Server systems, including core services such as Active Directory, Group Policy, and network infrastructure roles.
Support identity and access management processes using tools such as Azure AD / Entra ID and multi-factor authentication platforms like Cisco Duo.
Document network layouts, system configurations, support activity, and remediation steps to ensure accurate technical records across client accounts.
Use remote monitoring, management, and service tracking platforms to manage tickets, prioritize work, and deliver timely updates to stakeholders.
Contribute to infrastructure improvements and technical changes, including system upgrades or internal platform transitions when assigned.
Requirements
At least 3 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, networking, or a similar technical role. Working knowledge of TCP/IP, subnetting, VLANs, routing fundamentals, and overall network design concepts. Hands-on experience with Cisco networking equipment, Cisco routers, firewalls, VPN technologies, and WatchGuard security appliances. Familiarity with advanced networking concepts such as Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and secure connectivity best practices. Strong experience supporting Windows 10/11, Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and related infrastructure services. Background using remote monitoring and management tools as well as services automation platforms in a service-driven environment. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting while maintaining excellent customer service and clear documentation., All applicants applying for U.S. job openings must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
