Job description
This is a hands-on, technical role focused on the systems that run our 3PL operation. You will be our in-house expert in ShipHero and our connected tools: configuring and connecting them, troubleshooting them, documenting how they work, and steadily making them better.
This is primarily an internal, systems-facing role. You will spend most of your time supporting our operations, warehouse, and account teams rather than working directly with clients, though you may occasionally back up client-facing teammates on technical questions.
We are leaning into AI as a company, and this role is central to that effort. We want someone who actively looks for ways to automate manual work and apply AI tools across operations, reporting, and documentation - not someone who waits to be told where to use them.
The role sits alongside the 3PL Account & Implementation Specialist, who owns client relationships and coordination. You own the configuration, integrations, troubleshooting, documentation, and automation layer that keeps the operation running day to day.
Success in this role means: * Our systems are correctly configured, reliable, and well understood
- Technical issues are diagnosed and resolved quickly, with minimal disruption to operations
- Manual, repetitive work is steadily replaced with automation and AI-assisted workflows

WHAT YOU WILL DO
ShipHero & Systems Configuration * Own the day-to-day configuration of ShipHero: workflows, automation rules, users,
locations, and settings
- Configure and maintain settings across our connected systems and tools
- Build and adjust automation rules, shipping logic, and operational workflows in ShipHero
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access across systems
- Support updates to rate cards, carriers, and routing, and validate changes before they go
live
- Support the technical setup of new clients in ShipHero alongside the Account &
Implementation Specialist
Integrations & Connected Systems * Set up, configure, and maintain integrations between ShipHero and connected systems
(storefronts, marketplaces, carriers, and billing) using native connectors and no-/low-code tools
- Build and maintain straightforward API and webhook connections where a native integration
is not available
- Map and validate data flows (orders, inventory, shipments, tracking) and resolve sync
issues between systems
- Monitor existing integrations and catch and fix breaks before they disrupt operations
- Coordinate with outside developers or vendors when a build goes beyond what the role can
support in-house
AI & Workflow Automation:
- Identify manual, repetitive, or error-prone workflows and automate them
- Build and maintain AI-assisted workflows across operations, reporting, and documentation
- Develop and share practical AI tools, prompts, and skills the team can use day to day
- Use light scripting (spreadsheet formulas, no-/low-code automation, basic API calls) to
connect and streamline tasks
- Help lead our internal AI experimentation and bring the workflows that prove out into
everyday use
- Stay current on AI tools relevant to 3PL operations and recommend where they fit
Troubleshooting & Technical Support: * Serve as the internal go-to for technical issues across ShipHero and connected systems
- Diagnose and resolve problems such as orders not syncing, inventory discrepancies, and
report errors
- Investigate root causes and put fixes or safeguards in place to prevent recurrence
- Act as the escalation point for technical issues, escalating true engineering-level problems
to ShipHero support or outside resources as needed
- Support data and reporting needs, including pulling, cleaning, and validating data
Documentation, Training & Enablement: * Create and maintain clear SOPs, work instructions, and how-to documentation
- Train operations, warehouse, and account teams on systems and workflows
- Keep documentation current as systems and processes change
- Support onboarding of new internal team members on our tools and systems
Requirements
- 2 to 5 years in technical operations, systems administration, technical support, or a related
role
- Hands-on experience configuring and administering software systems (WMS, ERP,
eCommerce, or similar)
- Experience setting up or maintaining integrations between business systems (native
connectors, APIs, webhooks, or iPaaS tools)
- Experience in 3PL, fulfillment, logistics, eCommerce, or supply chain environments strongly
preferred
- Demonstrated experience using AI tools and/or building automations to improve real
workflows
Skills: * Deep comfort configuring and administering systems; ShipHero or a comparable WMS
strongly preferred
- Strong troubleshooting instincts and a methodical, root-cause approach to problems
- Comfortable working with data: advanced spreadsheets (Excel/Sheets), CSVs, and basic
data validation
- Working comfort with APIs, webhooks, and data formats such as JSON and CSV, and the
ability to build and troubleshoot basic integrations
- Scripting and automation ability: spreadsheet formulas, no-/low-code tools (Zapier, Make,
n8n), and basic API calls
- Hands-on fluency with AI tools, and a track record of using them to automate or improve
actual work
- Clear written communication and a habit of documenting as you go
- Organized and self-directed, able to manage multiple systems and issues without losing
track

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- ShipHero administration or configuration experience
- 3PL or fulfillment operations experience
- eCommerce, Amazon, or retail fulfillment knowledge
- Experience building automations with no-/low-code tools (Zapier, Make, n8n, or similar)
- Experience building AI-assisted workflows or internal AI tools
- Experience creating SOPs, technical documentation, or training materials
