We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Patient Service Representative and Front Desk Coordinator to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks with precision. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your medical office experience, technical skills, and bilingual abilities to make a meaningful difference in patient care., * Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and assist with appointment scheduling using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth.
- Manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, handle inquiries, and direct calls efficiently.
- Perform insurance verification, authorizations, and billing procedures including medical collection processes and Medicare claims.
- Maintain accurate medical records by reviewing documentation for completeness and compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies.
- Assist with intake procedures, patient check-in/out, and updating electronic health records (EHR systems) like eClinicalWorks or Dentrix.
- Support clinical staff by coordinating care plans, scheduling follow-up appointments, and managing office workflow.
- Handle clerical tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), faxing, scanning documents, and managing office supplies.
- Utilize computer skills to operate office management software like Eaglesoft or Dentrix efficiently while maintaining high standards of customer service.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a medical or dental front desk role with strong knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and health insurance procedures.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms.
- Excellent communication skills in both English and bilingual capabilities preferred to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies to ensure patient privacy at all times.
- Prior experience with medical billing, insurance verification, and documentation review is highly desirable.
- Office management experience including appointment scheduling, filing systems (digital and paper), and use of Microsoft Office tools such as Word and Excel.
- Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while providing outstanding patient service through phone communication and front desk interactions.
- Dental office experience or hospital setting familiarity is a plus; certifications in medical coding or billing are advantageous but not required.
