Bowles Rice LLP, an established law firm with offices throughout West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Virginia, is seeking a skilled and service-oriented Systems Administrator to support and enhance the technology environment of a busy law firm. This role is ideal for a hands-on Microsoft-stack professional who enjoys maintaining secure, reliable systems while helping attorneys, paralegals, and business professionals work efficiently with modern legal and productivity tools., The Systems Administrator will be responsible for Microsoft 365 administration, identity and access management, endpoint management, server and network support, security controls, backups, documentation, and escalation support. We are looking for a proactive and tech-savvy candidate to join our team!, * Administer and support Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, Teams Phone, Microsoft Purview, and related collaboration tools.
- Manage users, groups, permissions, conditional access, multifactor authentication, and identity lifecycle processes in Microsoft Entra ID.
- Deploy, configure, and maintain Windows endpoints using Microsoft Intune, configuration profiles, compliance policies, application deployment, and endpoint security baselines.
- Maintain Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file services, print services, certificates, and related infrastructure.
- Monitor system health, performance, patching, capacity, availability, and backup status across cloud and onpremises systems.
- Support cybersecurity initiatives, including vulnerability remediation, endpoint protection, email security, access reviews, logging, alert triage, and incident response coordination.
- Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 escalation support for attorneys, staff, and IT team members, with a focus on responsiveness, professionalism, and clear communication.
- Support legal technology platforms such as document management, PDF tools, litigation support applications, template tools, and Microsoft Office addins.
- Assist with technology projects, migrations, upgrades, vendor coordination, testing, documentation, and change management.
- Create and maintain accurate technical documentation, standard operating procedures, asset records, and knowledge base articles.
Requirements
- Five or more years of experience in systems administration, infrastructure support, endpoint administration, or a closely related IT role.
- Handson experience administering Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive.
- Experience managing Windows endpoints with Microsoft Intune, Autopilot or comparable endpoint management tools.
- Working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, networking fundamentals, backup systems, and patch management.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues involving user accounts, permissions, mail flow, endpoint configuration, connectivity, applications, and cloud services.
- Strong understanding of security best practices, including least privilege access, MFA, endpoint protection, email security, and secure configuration management.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate technical information clearly to nontechnical users.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fastpaced professional environment., * Experience with legal technology platforms such as iManage, NetDocuments, Litera, Adobe Acrobat, DocuSign, time and billing systems, litigation support tools, or document comparison and metadata management tools.
- Experience with PowerShell scripting for Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Exchange Online, endpoint management, reporting, and automation.
- Familiarity Microsoft Purview, compliance policies, eDiscovery workflows, retention policies, and data loss prevention concepts.
- Experience supporting hybrid environments, virtualization platforms, storage systems, disaster recovery processes, and business continuity planning.
- Microsoft certifications such as Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert, Endpoint Administrator Associate, Azure Administrator Associate, or Security Administrator Associate., The ideal candidate is technically strong, calm under pressure, and committed to providing excellent service in a confidential, high-trust environment. This person takes ownership of problems, documents solutions, follows through on details, and understands that technology in a law firm must be secure, reliable, and responsive to client service demands., This position supports a professional office environment where confidentiality, responsiveness, accuracy, and sound judgment are essential. Some after-hours work may be required for maintenance windows, upgrades, urgent support needs, or security-related response activities.
