Job description

  • Manages completion of SCADA network projects; including implementing network equipment, servers, workstations, and applications

  • Provides remote support for SCADA networks with a variety of computers, servers, peripherals, and software

  • Installs and configures computer hardware, software, and networks o Builds and installs host servers with multiple virtual machines

  • Monitors and maintains computer systems and networks

  • Protects SCADA digital infrastructure by defining access privileges, control structures, and resources

  • Monitors cybersecurity vulnerabilities and threats to understand current risk, recommend response and mitigation/countermeasure strategies

  • Implements mitigation/countermeasure strategies and other cybersecurity improvements

  • Implements the most applicable standards and guidelines from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and American Water Works Association (AWWA) related to cybersecurity for Industrial Control Systems (ICS), including the following internationally recognized agencies: o NIST 800-53 - Security and Privacy Controls for Federal Information System and Organizations o NIST 800-82 - Guide to Industrial Control System (ICS) Security o ISO/IEC 27001-27005 - Information Security Management System (ISMS)

  • Develops and implements policy and guidance for SCADA and cybersecurity

  • Communicates with Leadership relating to critical incidents and strategic cybersecurity requirements

  • Recommends new/emerging cybersecurity tools and services

  • Evaluates the cybersecurity impact of software changes

  • Researches and recommends security patches, including firmware, operating systems, and software

  • Patches and "hotfixes" all operating systems and applications with the latest security updates

  • Develops and implements USB security on end-points SCADA computers

  • Implements end-point protection on SCADA systems

  • Assesses and replaces SCADA IT equipment and network along with SCADA related components

  • Maintains an updated inventory of all SCADA hardware and software

  • Supports cyber security training for SCADA users

  • Performs other duties as assigned., The compensation range provided is in compliance with state specific laws. Multiple factors are used to determine the actual starting rate of pay for all of our positions, including specific skills, years of experience, education, certification(s), and other job related factors.

Requirements

  • A.S. diploma in a related field required. B.A. or B.S. degree preferred

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in Information Technology

  • Certifications preferred: MCSE, CCNA, VCP, CWNA

  • Proficient in cyber security best practices

  • Knowledge in Microsoft Windows Server Operating System and Virtual Machine software

  • Knowledge of Local Area Network and Cisco product o Router o Managed Switch o Firewall

  • Knowledge of PC computer network support and maintenance

  • Knowledge of Data Backup and Recovery

  • Knowledge of System Alert and Monitoring software

  • Able to work independently with Products Technical Support with minimal supervision

  • Strong attention to detail, highly organized, computer literate

  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

  • Ability to learn new skills to keep current with technology changes

  • Ability to Install and maintain software and hardware

  • Able to prioritize workload and coordinate time schedules

  • Ability to travel between system locations required
