- Lead day-to-day operations and production support for MMIS, encounter processing, claims, and related healthcare systems.
- Manage project planning, implementation, and enhancement activities for critical Medicaid applications.
- Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, cybersecurity, enterprise architecture, and business stakeholders.
- Oversee incident, issue, and problem management, ensuring timely resolution and proper escalation.
- Monitor production environments and ensure system stability, performance, and operational readiness.
- Lead release management activities, including planning, readiness reviews, deployments, and post-release monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and operational standards.
- Manage vendor performance and monitor service level agreements (SLAs).
- Develop, maintain, and improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) and operational documentation.
- Support change management activities, backlog grooming, and implementation governance.
- Provide leadership, workload management, and guidance to technical and operational teams.
- Communicate project status, risks, and operational updates to leadership and stakeholders.
Requirements
We are seeking an experienced IT Healthcare Consultant - Project Manager to support the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS). This role will lead operational management for Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS) and related healthcare applications, ensuring reliable production support, vendor coordination, incident management, release management, and system enhancements. The ideal candidate will have strong project management experience within healthcare IT, preferably Medicaid environments, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced operational setting., * Bachelor''s degree in Information Technology, Business, Healthcare, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience managing healthcare system operations, claims processing, or encounter processing environments.
- 5+ years of project management experience supporting enterprise system implementations or enhancements.
- 3+ years of experience managing third-party vendors and system development partners.
- Experience supporting production operations, incident management, and release management.
- Strong understanding of SDLC, change management, and operational support processes.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and documentation skills.
- Ability to participate in on-call support and after-hours production activities when required.
- AWS Cloud Certification(s), * Experience managing Medicaid Enterprise Systems or MMIS platforms.
- Knowledge of Medicaid eligibility, enrollment, claims, and encounter processing.
- Experience with ticketing and incident management tools.
- Experience developing operational procedures and process documentation.
- Strong presentation, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.
