Job description
- Maintain various applications for city departments, including application upgrades and patch maintenance.
- Develop and maintain related applications and interfaces.
- Gather business requirements and document specifications for development.
- Migrate and test the implementation of business applications.
- Implement and enforce processes for application migration, testing, and support maintenance.
- Provide production support for business applications, technical environments, and interfacing systems.
- Prioritize and assign target completion dates for fixes and change orders.
- Follow existing business processes and operational guidelines.
- Follow through on project development/production issues and customer inquiries to ensure resolution.
- Coordinate with staff, applications, and software vendors for support and issue resolution.
- Support 24x7 business operations and be available onsite during business hours.
Requirements
Education: A college degree, preferably in the fields of Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
Experience: At least one year of work experience as an applications developer using C#, .NET, Java, or any object-oriented programming language. Must have at least one year of hands-on coding experience in SQL.
Skills: Candidates must demonstrate problem-solving, troubleshooting, and organization/planning skills. Knowledge of any relational databases is required. The role requires the ability to multi-task, provide off-hours support, and possess communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills. The ability to learn quickly and adapt to a multi-platform technical environment is also necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure or experience with any reporting tool such as Power BI, Crystal Reports, or Cognos.
