Job description

The Sr. Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) Engineering will work in a highly collaborated agile environment across all stages of the software development cycle, this role involves architecting, designing building and extending test automation solutions and tooling to enhance the quality of our products.

The ideal candidate for this role will possess a deep expertise in object-oriented design principles, automation design patterns and best practices to improve testability of complex integration systems to reduce manual test execution and accelerate test efficiency.

You will play a critical role in identifying and reduce defects earlier in the cycle. This includes building and driving the adoption of automation framework solutions and tools, as well as evaluating the quality, capability and supportability of our platforms from a systems perspective.

You will be able to prioritize and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and partner with others across functions to achieve key milestones and goals. Strong communication skills are essential to lead cross functional engineering teams as a technical leader (not the manager) to establish new approaches and to mentor top technical talent.

This is an onsite position at our office in Dallas, TX.

How you will make an impact:

In this role, you'll:

  • Architect, design, build tools and frameworks; propose enhancements to existing frameworks.
  • Evaluate latest automation technologies and AI powered tools for integration into existing automation frameworks.
  • Identify and implement quality strategies and improvements across the organization.
  • Lead and contribute to automation of test scenarios throughout the project life cycle that conform to testing standards, business requirements, and architectural/design standards.
  • Optimize test automation processes based on quality metrics.
  • Develop comprehensive documentation (such as automation design, tool evaluation, verification deliverables) consistent with department quality standards.
  • Collaborate with developers in reviewing unit test and integration results for coverage analysis.
  • Establish and monitor automation code coverage and create real-time quality dashboards.
  • Train and mentor cross team members on automation best practices.

We will consider a combination of education and experience, including:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other Engineering discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience building UI, API, Performance automation scalable and reliable frameworks, tools and solutions for complex enterprise applications using: Selenium, Selenium Grid, Playwright, Postman, SOAP UI, REST Assured, REST API, SOAP WebServices for system and integration testing.
  • 5+ years of experience with Java, JavaScript, JQuery, XPath, Oracle PL/SQL, Junit, TestNG.
  • Expertise in building, integrating power AI tools into testing and automation processes.
  • Strong knowledge of overall system architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Strong experience with CI/CD pipeline/process.
  • Experience with scripting languages like Python, Groovy, and shell.
  • Proficiency using Jira, Bitbucket, GitHub, TestRail, Zephyr Scale and Jenkins.
  • Knowledge to load / performance testing and tools.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, reporting, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Pay Transparency

At XiFin, we believe in pay transparency and fairness. The expected annual salary range for this role is $120,000 to $135,000, based on your experience, skills, and geographic location.

Final compensation will be determined during the selection process and may vary accordingly.
