Job description

  • We are seeking a Middleware / DevOps Engineer to support enterprise web middleware technologies and application infrastructure within a highly automated, cloud-enabled environment. This role will be responsible for onboarding applications, managing middleware platforms, supporting CI/CD initiatives, administering SSL certificate lifecycles, and ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of critical systems., * Support the Web Middleware Technology team with onboarding new applications using automation tools and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of SSL certificates, including creation, renewal, retention, inventory management, and revocation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application and middleware issues, with a focus on Apache Tomcat and related platforms.
  • Design, develop, and deploy infrastructure and application solutions using automation and configuration management tools such as Chef, Ansible, Jenkins, and Git-based repositories.
  • Install, configure, and maintain middleware software platforms across development, test, and production environments.
  • Leverage OpenShift and container technologies to deploy, manage, and scale applications efficiently.
  • Support and administer cloud-based infrastructure using AWS and other cloud platforms.
  • Ensure timely application of security patches and system updates to maintain compliance and reduce vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with application development, infrastructure, security, and operations teams to resolve technical issues and deliver enterprise solutions.
  • Monitor middleware environments and establish performance standards to ensure system stability, availability, and scalability.
  • Modify and enhance existing software and infrastructure components to improve functionality, performance, and user experience.
  • Analyze system behavior, performance metrics, and operational data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support change management, deployment activities, and production releases in a controlled enterprise environment.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, operational runbooks, and configuration standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 4+ years of experience supporting middleware platforms, DevOps engineering, systems administration, or infrastructure automation.
  • Hands-on experience administering and troubleshooting:
  • Apache Tomcat
  • IBM WebSphere
  • Red Hat JBoss EAP
  • Experience implementing and supporting CI/CD pipelines in enterprise environments.
  • Strong experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management tools including:
  • Chef
  • Ansible
  • Terraform
  • Puppet
  • Experience working with containerization and orchestration technologies:
  • Docker
  • Kubernetes
  • Red Hat OpenShift
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms, particularly Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Experience with SSL/TLS certificate lifecycle management.
  • Understanding of enterprise security practices, vulnerability remediation, and patch management.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux administration, particularly:
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
  • Bash scripting
  • Python
  • JavaScript
  • Experience using version control platforms such as GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills., * Experience supporting large-scale enterprise middleware environments.
  • Experience with streaming and messaging technologies such as Apache Kafka.
  • Familiarity with Maven and Gradle build management tools.
  • Experience working within Agile or DevOps operating models.
  • Exposure to multi-cloud environments including Azure and Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).
  • Knowledge of application performance monitoring and capacity planning.
  • Experience with regulated or highly governed enterprise environments.
