Job description

This position exists to support CYFD's implementation and ongoing compliance with SB42 by administering enterprise backup, recovery, and data retention solutions. The position is responsible for ensuring the availability, integrity, recoverability, and long term retention of electronic records through the administration of Cohesity and other enterprise backup technologies, while supporting the agency's server, storage, virtualization, disaster recovery, and business continuity infrastructure. How does it get done?

30% -Administer, monitor, and maintain Cohesity and other enterprise backup and recovery platforms to ensure successful backups, long term retention, and compliance with SB42.

20% -Manage Windows servers, virtualization infrastructure, storage systems, Active Directory, Microsoft 365 services, and enterprise systems to ensure availability, performance, and reliability.

15% -Perform backup validation, restoration testing, disaster recovery exercises, business continuity activities, and troubleshoot backup failures to ensure recoverability of critical systems and data.

15% -Install, configure, patch, upgrade, and maintain enterprise server infrastructure, operating systems, storage, and backup software while following security and change management processes.

10% -Monitor system health, performance, capacity, logs, and alerts, and resolve infrastructure issues to maintain a secure and resilient environment.

10% -Support audits, SB42 compliance reporting, documentation, retention requirements, and coordinate with DoIT, vendors, and internal stakeholders on backup and infrastructure initiatives. Minimum Qualification

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology, Engineering, or similar technical degree and two (2) years of experience in systems administration. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results. Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive phone and personal computer usage. Direct client interaction and some travel may be required. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle. Supplemental Information
