Job description

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Java Developer with expertise in building high-performance trading platforms and low-latency distributed systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java, microservices architecture, and capital markets, with hands-on experience developing execution platforms for electronic trading.

You will work closely with quantitative teams, product managers, and engineering leaders to design, develop, and optimize mission-critical trading applications that power real-time execution and order management., * Design and develop scalable microservices using Java 17+, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud.

  • Build and enhance low-latency trading applications and execution platforms.
  • Collaborate with Quants and Product teams to implement algorithmic trading strategies.
  • Optimize JVM performance, garbage collection, memory management, and concurrency.
  • Develop resilient, highly available, and fault-tolerant distributed systems.
  • Implement pre-trade risk controls, circuit breakers, and safe trading mechanisms.
  • Integrate high-performance messaging technologies such as Kafka, Solace, or Aeron.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, CI/CD automation, and production support.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of Java development experience.
  • Strong expertise in Core Java (Java 17+ preferred).
  • Extensive experience with:
  • Spring Boot
  • Spring Cloud
  • Microservices Architecture
  • Docker
  • Kubernetes
  • Deep understanding of multithreading, concurrency, and Java Memory Model.
  • Experience with Kafka, Solace, or Aeron.
  • Hands-on experience with Redis, Hazelcast, SQL, and NoSQL databases.
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI.
  • Experience following TDD/BDD practices.

Capital Markets Experience

Candidates should have experience with:

  • Electronic Trading Platforms

  • Smart Order Routing (SOR)
  • Order Management Systems (OMS)
  • Trade Execution
  • Clearing & Settlement
  • Market Data (L1/L2/L3)
  • Financial regulations including MiFID II and SEC Rule 606, * Candidates with previous Bank of America (BoA) experience will not be considered.
  • Experience with other major banking or financial institutions is highly preferred.
