Job description
SUMMARY: The EHR Data Analyst leverages advanced analytical tools and database knowledge to design, develop, and support data management services. The role acts as a bridge between IT systems and clinical operations, ensuring that electronic medical record systems generate clean, compliant, and actionable insights., * Writes programs that will enable the organization to meet the data requirements of the State and other third parties.
- Meets with staff to determine data and report needs and writes
- programs to meet these needs.
- Provide technical support for data-related system errors.
- Write custom SQL scripts to extract data from EHR reporting layers and databases.
- Upload data on schedule to key partners including NetSmart, State of Alabama, Eleos, etc.
- Validate, clean, and deduplicate raw data to ensure absolute reporting integrity.
- Protect health information securely adhering strictly to HIPAA and privacy regulations.
- Design interactive data visualizations inside of Carelogic.
- Track clinical key performance indicators (KPIs) and quality assessment metrics.
- Translate complex statistical results into clear summaries for administrative leaders.
- Evaluate clinical workflows to align system design with operations.
- Assist with data testing, system configuration, and software migrations.
Requirements
- Knowledge of computer hardware and software.
- Ability to write and modify computer programs.
- Ability to communicate with staff as to data needs and form these requests into a working system.
- Must demonstrate the ability to work well with staff and clients in a polite, respectful and dignified manner.
- Deep familiarity with platforms like Carelogic, Rcopia, Pentaho.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in SQL.
- Basic understanding of interoperability standards like HL7 and FHIR.
- Mastery of Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, Power Query).
- Ability to clearly translate technical concepts to non-technical doctors or administrators.
- Sharp analytical mind capable of pinpointing discrepancies within massive datasets
- Performs other duties, responsibilities, and special projects as assigned. This position may require flexibility to assist in various operational, administrative, or programmatic functions as needed to meet organizational priorities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Data Science, or Information Technology.
- 2+ years of data analysis experience specifically working inside a clinical healthcare environment.
