How does it get done?
The Senior IT Support Technician is responsible for: Assisting with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of enterprise network infrastructure, including switches, routers, wireless access points, and firewalls;
Monitoring network performance and availability using network management and monitoring tools;
Troubleshooting network connectivity issues for users and agency locations, escalating complex problems when necessary;
Supporting the deployment and maintenance of wired, wireless, and WAN/SD-WAN network services;
Performing routine network maintenance, such as firmware updates, backups, and equipment replacements;
Creating and maintaining accurate network documentation, diagrams, inventory records, and standard operating procedures;
Assisting with user account and network access requests in alignment with security policies;
Participating in network infrastructure projects, office relocations, and new site deployments;
Working with vendors and service providers to troubleshoot circuits, hardware, and connectivity issues;
Following established cybersecurity policies and assisting with the implementation of network security best practices;
Participating in an on-call rotation or providing after-hours support for scheduled maintenance, as required;
Collaborating with Systems Administration, Help Desk, Security, and other IT teams to ensure reliable service delivery;
staying current on networking technologies through ongoing training and professional development.
Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of experience in providing technical support to end-users for computer hardware, software, and/or network-related problems. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling two (2) years may substitute for the required experience. Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
Must obtain a Defensive Driving Certificate. Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some travel may be required. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Supplemental Information
