Job description

Document Technologies of Arizona is looking for an experienced IT professional who enjoys much more than just fixing computers.

We're looking for someone who can walk into a client's office, understand how their business operates, identify technical risks and opportunities, design better solutions, and then help implement them.

This is a hands-on technical role, but it's also a consulting role. You'll work directly with business owners, managers, and decision makers while helping our clients improve reliability, security, and productivity.

You'll lead infrastructure projects, assist with client onboarding, participate in technical assessments, recommend improvements, and become a trusted technical advisor to the clients you support.

Because we're a growing MSP, every member of our team contributes where needed. While your primary focus will be projects, consulting, and infrastructure, you'll also help with support tickets and escalations when appropriate. We don't believe anyone is "above" helping clients.

What You'll Do

Client Consulting & Technology Planning

As a trusted advisor to our clients, you'll often identify opportunities to improve their technology, security, and overall IT strategy.

This includes:

  • Identifying infrastructure, security, and operational improvements during client visits
  • Recommending solutions that align with each client's business goals and budget
  • Working alongside our sales and account management team to develop project proposals and long-term technology roadmaps
  • Assisting with technical discovery meetings and solution design for prospective clients
  • Helping clients understand the value and business impact of recommended improvements

We believe our engineers are in the best position to recognize opportunities because they're the ones working directly with our clients every day. Engineers who proactively identify and help develop new project opportunities may be eligible for additional performance incentives or sales commissions.

Team Support

Although your primary responsibility is projects and consulting, we're one team.

You'll also:

  • Assist with escalated support tickets
  • Mentor junior technicians
  • Share technical knowledge
  • Improve documentation
  • Help solve complex issues
  • Step in wherever needed to provide an excellent client experience

We're looking for someone who sees support as part of taking ownership, not something beneath them., Within your first 6-12 months, you'll be able to:

  • Independently lead infrastructure projects
  • Perform technical assessments for prospective clients
  • Identify security and operational improvements
  • Successfully onboard new MSP clients
  • Build trust with business owners
  • Mentor junior technicians
  • Reduce the workload on leadership by owning projects and technical decisions
  • Help develop long-term technology roadmaps for clients
  • Contribute to support when needed without losing sight of higher-value initiatives
  • Build strong relationships that position you as a trusted technical advisor.
  • Identify project opportunities that improve client security, reliability, and productivity.
  • Collaborate with sales and account management to develop technical solutions and project proposals.
  • Help grow existing client relationships by proactively recommending improvements that provide real business value.

Why Join Document Technologies of Arizona?

We're a small, family-run MSP where every employee has a direct impact on our clients and our company.

You'll work with a variety of technologies, solve real business problems, and have the opportunity to influence how we deliver IT services.

If you enjoy solving technical problems, building relationships with clients, and helping businesses make smart technology decisions, this role offers opportunities to grow both technically and professionally. As you develop client relationships and identify new project opportunities, you'll also have the opportunity to earn additional performance-based compensation through our project referral and sales incentive program.
